A Day At the Park

Jen and Maddy, Melissa and Mookie, and Kendall and I had our girls day out yesterday. And what a fun day it was!! We found a totally awesome fabric shop, and then we went to a park for a picnic. The last time we went to a park, was the first time that we all met Jen and Maddy back in May. That time, we went to a park close to Jen's house, and we were disappointed that it was apparently lawn-mowing day.

This time, we went to a different park, but as you can see from the pictures, we're 2 for 2 now with park lawn-mowing days. Kendall and I tried out the slide for the first time. I think I enjoyed more than Kendall did.

Despite the loud lawn-mowing, we still had fun. We're just enjoying our time with Jen and Maddy before they move to New Zealand (!) next month.

  1. That's a great shot of Maddy and her apple. SO cute!
And the picture of you and Kendall at the bottom of the slide is precious! That's one for a frame on Grant's desk! :o)
It sure was fun. And we napped for a good 2 hours when we got home. We were both tired from all that fabric shopping!

  2. no naps for us... the Madster was WIDE AWAKE for the rest of the day... that 10 minute nap at the fabric store was apparently sufficient for the entire day!

  4. Too bad Brent isn't around to tell you the funniest story about that Cotton Shop! He would tell you that I wanted to make Aubrey a bumper pad thingy for the crib and wanted to save money by making it instead of buying one (even though I wasn't much of a seamstress at the time!) - So i found that shop and went in and bought my fabric (decorator fabric mind you) and sewed it up! I ended up hating it BUT he made me use it because I think when all was said and done the bumper pad cost about $100!!!!! I hope he is happy for me by telling that story! I can just see him with a satisfied look on his face!!

Later on - i discovered the fabric barn where all the fabric was deeply discounted - it is in long beach!! check it out!
